He began his career training as a journalist with the ABC in Melbourne before moving into acting, where he quickly became one of Australia’s most respected performers. His television credits include Wildside, Water Rats, MDA, The Secret Life of Us, City Homicide, The Circuit, East West 101, Total Control, The Gloaming, The Code, Jack Irish and Mystery Road — the latter earning him an AACTA International Award for Best Actor in a Series for his portrayal of Detective Jay Swan.
His film work includes Dead Heart, Saturday Night, Dark Love Story, Unfinished Business, Mimi, Mirror Images and De-Evolution. Aaron wrote and starred in the acclaimed documentary My Brother Vinnie, which won multiple festival awards and saw him recognised as Male Actor of the Year and nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Film at the 2007 Deadly Awards.
On stage, Aaron has performed with Australia’s leading theatre companies, including the Melbourne Theatre Company (King Lear, Cost of Living), Sydney Theatre Company (The Visitors, Signs of Life, The Club), Black Swan (The Accidental Death of an Anarchist), and Queensland Theatre (Eating with Your Eyes Closed).
An Arrernte/Arabana man from Alice Springs, Aaron is a passionate advocate for Indigenous culture and community. He has addressed the United Nations in New York, participated in play readings such as Conversations with the Dead, and spoken at the Art Gallery of NSW about the journey of an Indigenous artist in Australia.
In addition to his acclaimed acting career, Aaron is also an experienced MC and guest speaker, known for his warmth, insight and authenticity.
