Dr Paul Scully-Power

Dr. Paul Scully-Power is a pioneering astronaut, esteemed scientist, and visionary leader with a distinguished career spanning multiple continents, industries, and sectors. Australia’s first astronaut, he made history aboard NASA’s Space Shuttle Challenger, marking a major milestone in Australia’s contribution to space exploration.

With a unique blend of expertise in defense, aerospace, national security, and emerging technologies, Dr. Scully-Power has held senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors across the US, UK, and Australia. He has served with the Royal Australian Navy, the US Navy, NASA, and the Pentagon, playing pivotal roles in high-tech defense and intelligence initiatives, advanced communications systems, and cutting-edge aerospace technologies. His work has been critical to the development of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, hypersonics, smart sensors, and UAVs, among other innovations.

Dr. Scully-Power has held several prominent positions, including Chairman, President, Executive Director, CEO, and CTO. He co-founded Ripper Corp, a company dedicated to saving lives through drone technology, and serves as an advisor to Australia’s Department of Defence and other strategic defense organizations. His contributions to space, defense, and national security continue to shape policy, strategy, and technological advancements.

A Doctor of Science in Applied Mathematics, Dr. Scully-Power has published over ninety scientific reports and articles and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the International Strategic Studies Association.
