One of Australia’s most experienced and respected journalists and presenters, Kay McGrath has been on the front line of numerous historic events including the Fitzgerald Inquiry, the death of former Qld Premier Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the disastrous 2011 Brisbane floods, Cylones Larry and Yasi and the verdict in the high-profile Daniel Morcombe murder trial. She has interviewed Prime Ministers, Governors-General, Premiers, politicians and personalities.

An authentic operator, Kay McGrath ‘walks the talk’ and is a long time committed child protection campaigner. She is Patron of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Patron and co-founder of Protect all Children Today, a Life Ambassador for Act for Kids and was previously Vice Patron of the Queensland Breast and Prostate Cancer Association. Kay Co-Chaired the Qld State Government Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council established by Dame Quentin Bryce as a result of the #Not Now Not Ever Report. She is also a founding member of Women in Media Qld and sits on the committee.

In 2016, Kay received a Queensland Clarion Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to Journalism. In 2017, she was awarded an OAM in recognition of her work in media and child protection. In 2019 Kay was named a ‘Queensland Great’. In 2021 Kay joined the ranks of Chief Executive Women in Australia.
