Mark Aiston

Media Personality, Keynote Speaker & Host

Mark Aiston is a familiar media personality having worked in radio and television for over three decades. He is also an accomplished keynote speaker and corporate host.

Mark has worked on most of the country's major sporting events, including The Sydney Olympics, Bathurst, The Melbourne Cup, and The Sydney To Hobart. Based in South Australia, he hosts The Mental Health Show on radio and operates the media training company Mediainsider.

A powerful keynote speaker, Mark Aiston draws on his personal battle with depression, speaking candidly about his life, and the addictions that came with his mental health issues. Mark reveals the warning signs that indicated a major breakdown was imminent and how he ignored them at his peril. With honesty, he describes his spectacular fall from grace, how it affected him moving forward and how, with dogged determination, he worked to beat the ever present black cloud.

Despite the sober topic of his keynote presentation, Mark manages to uplift his audiences with entertaining stories from the media and about his father, Keith, who was an outstanding athlete.

Having survived depression, Mark is now rebuilding his life, through health, fitness, meditation, and talking about mental health to anyone interested in listening. He is an ambassador for a number of charities and organisations. He is passionate about helping fight depression and works closely with The Mental Health commission.

SA Police

I have been advised that you attended the Elizabeth Local Service Area seminar and presented to members your personal story, including the impact a mental illness has had in your private and professional life. It is the candidness of presentations such as yours and the work by such organisation as Beyond Blue that open the dialogue about mental wellbeing and provides avenues for those seeking help to reach out.
