Simon Palan is a familiar face in the Australian media having enjoyed a career spanning ten years with the ABC Network as an on-air news reporter and presenter specialising in consumer business and finance for ABC TV's flagship 7 pm News and ABC News 24.

A polished MC and facilitator, who is quick on his feet and never flustered, Simon has MC'd corporate events as well as many large fundraising events.

Simon began his media career as a publicist for Network TEN before becoming a journalist writing for publications including The Sydney Morning Herald and Mediaweek magazine.

His onscreen career began in 2002 when Simon became an on-air news reporter for SBS Television's world news, covering general local and foreign news for both SBS TV bulletins at 6.30pm and 9.30pm.

At the ABC, Simon's roles included regularly presenting Business Today, a 30-minute business news program and writing and presenting live Q and A stock market wraps for the Midday Report TV News and ABC Asia-Pacific TV News.

He also hosted his own consumer affairs show, The Consumer Quarter, on ABC News 24, which examined issues impacting the everyday lives of Australian consumers and analysed rapidly changing shopping habits. While at ABC Simon Palan frequently anchored general news bulletins.

In addition to working with television networks, Simon has established his own corporate video production company, Refine Media.
