Peter O'Dempsey

Experienced presenter, trusted MC

Peter O'Dempsey is a freelance sports journalist who spent 15 years at Network 10 in Queensland, with six of those years as full-time sports anchor. Since leaving the network in 2013, Peter has been busy building his new career as an MC and is frequently asked to host large corporate gatherings.

In a career spanning 20 years as a senior journalist working extensively in news and sport, Peter has acquired many skills that now benefit his work as an MC and host - from pitching stories, research, writing and editing through to reading and live crosses. He is also experienced at writing and delivering speeches to a live audience. 

In recent years, Peter has hosted several official corporate functions including at major sporting events, many with more than 500 guests. These include:

• The Lord Mayor's Multicultural Business Awards

• AFC Asian Cup Sponsors suite (three events)

• The Queensland Reds Gala Ball

• The Brisbane Lions Championship Dinner

• Match-day corporate functions at Suncorp Stadium for every State of Origin Match in the past three years

• The official re-test Corporate Dinners for the Wallabies v the All Blacks and the British and Irish Lions

As a former television presenter Peter O'Dempsey possesses the highest level of communication and interpersonal skills, relating to people at all levels from the top echelons of government and business to the average man on the street.
