Melissa Doyle is the host of Seven’s Sunrise program. A familiar face to audiences of the Seven Network, Melissa has worked as a reporter, presenter and anchor within Seven's News and Current Affairs department since 1995.
In 1996 she started with the Seven Network and after a posting as Federal Political Reporter at Parliament House she returned to Sydney and has hosted and/or read the news on several Seven Network programs including a previous incarnation of Sunrise, 11AM, Ansett In Flight News, Sydney Weekender and Today Tonight.
In 1997, she was offered the position of Sunrise co-host with David Koch and continued in the role until 1999. During this time she also presented news on 11AM and also compiled reports on the lifestyle and leisure show, Sydney Weekender.
Melissa Doyle joined Today Tonight in early 2000 as a feature reporter and later presenter. At the helm she covered the Olympic Games, the running of the Olympic Torch and even ran with it herself.
She also anchored the networks award winning coverage of the 2001 Christmas Bushfires.
In 2008 and 2009 Melissa hosted The Zoo - a documentary program profiling the activities in some of Australia's biggest zoos. The program was a critical and ratings success and it brought many heart-warming stories to Australian lounge rooms. Melissa has been a weekly newspaper columnist for the Sunday Herald Sun newspaper, co-hosted Australia's favourite nostalgia program WHERE ARE THEY NOW? and has been nominated three times for a Silver Logie (2006, 2007 and 2008) for Australia's Most Popular TV Presenter. She actively supports many children's charities and in 2009 won The Gold Harold Award for her work with those charities.
Now back at Sunrise, Melissa Doyle has a knack for asking what everyone else is thinking – and has a higher audience approval rating than anyone on breakfast television on any network in Australia. She also hosts the nostalgia program, Where Are They Now?.
An accomplished presenter, Melissa Doyle has hosted the Australian PGA Championship “Dinner with the Stars”, the Inaugural Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival Luncheon, Australian of the Year, the Inaugural Leading Ladies Luncheon at Hyatt Regency Coolum and the Northcott Society’s Role Models Dinner.
Melissa Doyle is also an Ambassador for the New Children's Hospital at Westmead and is actively involved in supporting many charities especially those involving children. These include: World Vision, Variety – The Children’s Charity, the George Gregan Foundation, NETS and the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia.
