About Julian Burton OAM:
Just like everyone else, Julian is the sum of his experiences to date. His background includes experiences as a professional educator, top level sportsman, a survivor of the 2002 Bali bombings and founder of the Julian Burton Burns Trust. Combining an academic background in education, sports psychology, journalism and public relations, Julian’s story is about moving beyond fear and accomplishing goals.
Whilst recovering from life-threatening injuries sustained in the bombing of the Sari Club in Bali on 12 October 2002, Julian was motivated to turn the tragedy into a positive experience. In March 2003, he, along with Dr John Greenwood (Director) and Ms Shiela Kavanagh CNC of the Royal Adelaide Hospital Burns Unit, co-founded the Julian Burton Burns Trust to make a difference for burns survivors, their families, and the professionals who work in burns care. The Julian Burton Burns Trust is the first national community organisation solely committed to prevention, care and research associated with burn injuries.
In November 2009, Julian Burton’s achievements were recognised when he was named the South Australian of the Year 2010.
Julian’s clients include Zurich Financial Services of Australia, Financial Planners Association of Australia, The Australian Newspaper, International Chartered Accountants in Australia, First National Real Estate and Subway.
