Effie Zahos

Consumer finance expert Effie Zahos is the editor of Money magazine (Australia's longest-running, highest-selling and most-read personal finance magazine) and was co-host of the successful Money for Jam TV show on Channel 9 with Paul Clitheroe.

Effie started as a graduate trainee for one of Australia's major banks then moved from the corporate world to TV in 1997, kick-starting her career in financial journalism as head researcher for Paul Clitheroe on Channel Nine's successful Money Show.

She now writes for Money magazine, specialising in consumer banking issues and is a regular on radio with her Word On Money segment and on TV with appearances on Channel 9's A Current Affair, Today Show and Mornings and on Sky Business News, Your Money Your Call.

As a speaker, Effie talks about personal finance matters such as building wealth through real estate, understanding super, investing for your kids, budgeting to reach your goals, overcoming first home ownership affordability and more.

Effie is the author of Getting Rich, Staying Rich and her articles have also been published in several lifestyle magazines including Real Living, Qantas and Smarter Business Ideas.

In 2014 she was an ambassador for MoneySmart Week.

With more than 20 years experience in the finance industry, Effie is in demand as a keynote speaker, facilitator and MC at finance/property expos across Australia.
