Musical Satire

Cuter than an armful of puppies and funkier than white boys should be! Buckle up for a fast-paced onslaught of comedy and music rolled into a colourful, lovable and let's face it - downright sexy - bundle!

Tripod are Scod, Gatesy and Yon: three skinny, self-effacing, fun-loving lads who are just trying to make their way in the world without killing each other. The geek, the cool 'wannabe' and the weirdo sing and gyrate their way through the problems of the world and even manage to create a few new ones while they're at it.

Tripod have made countless TV and radio appearances, toured Australia extensively, enjoyed sell-out shows in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh can't wait to have them back for a third time!

Melbourne's own 'professional singing idiots' have been dazzling audiences worldwide for over six years. The boys were regulars with Wil Anderson & Adam Spencer on Triple J and released two full-length albums, the latest of which is a live album entitled Open Slather, which included the Xmas rock anthem 'I Hate Your Family'.

On television, the boys are part of the regular line up for The Sideshow (ABC TV) and were part of the team for Network Ten’s sketch show skitHOUSE.

Also in big demand in the corporate arena, Tripod’s clients include Australian Pacific Tours, Coles Myer, Cisco Systems, Deloitte Consulting, Dulux, IBM, Institution of Surveyors Australia, Just Jeans, Leo Burnett Advertising, Mitsubishi, National Mutual, Olivers Real Estate, Toyota and Telstra.

Tripods numerous awards include:

  • Green Room Nomination for Best Musical Direction/Arrangements - Cabaret & Best Cabaret Ensemble (2004)
  • Winner People's Choice Award - Australian Comedy Awards (2003)
  • Winner Award for Outstanding Comedy Recording About an Hour of Song-in-an-Hour Australian Comedy Awards
  • Nominated for the ARIA Best Comedy Album Award for About an Hour of Song-in-an-Hour. (2003)
