Anne Fulwood is one of Australian television's best-known and most respected journalists. Former host of Channel 7’s Late News, Anne now operates her own media consultancy company.
An engaging, entertaining and much sought after speaker, Anne Fulwood’s topics range from foreign and current affairs, business, politics, conservation and environment, sport, the wine industry and the media.
Born and educated in South Australia, Anne Fulwood joined Channel 7 in the mid-80s before moving to Channel Ten in Sydney. In 1991 she became the founding host of Channel 10’s Late News, which established not only a new time slot for evening news, but was instrumental in changing Australia’s late night viewing patterns.
Five years later, having established an audience and presence, Anne Fulwood was invited back to Channel 7 where she hosted the daytime current affairs program 11 AM before moving to the Late News.
A keen sportswoman, Anne Fulwood has hosted both Commonwealth and Olympic Games. In 1994, she hosted Channel Ten's Commonwealth Games coverage which won the coveted Logie Award and a People's Choice Award. In 1996, she covered the Atlanta Olympics for Channel 7, which proved a highlight of her career.
Interested in a wide range of issues including foreign affairs and business consumer/competition issues, Anne Fulwood has met numerous leading business identities during her extensive career. She also grew up in a wine growing area, where her family are involved in the horticultural business. As a result, she has a passion for primary industry, conservation and the environment, particularly salinity and maintaining the health of our water resources for future generations.
A Trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Anne’s former federal government appointments include: two terms as a Member of the Council for Australian Honours as appointed by the PM and Governor-General; a member of the National Film and Sound Archive (ScreenSound Australia); two terms as a member of the Film and Literature Board of Review; and a member of the Luna Park Reserve Trust for the NSW Government.
In demand as a master of ceremonies, Anne Fulwood has been a long time MC of the Tourism Council Australia’s breakfasts and in November 2001, was MC for the Prime Minister’s Luncheon for the Millennium Forum. She has also hosted a series of boardroom lunches for Goldman Sachs throughout 2002.
Comfortable with both serious and light issues, Anne Fulwood is an excellent keynote speaker or master of ceremonies. Her down to earth style, broad appeal and fabulous sense of humour, make her ideal for any occasion.
