Tara Moss is a Canadian-born author, model, actor, presenter and television personality.
At age fourteen Tara Moss began working as an international fashion model. Since then she has travelled the far reaches of the world, graced the covers of over twenty magazines and made numerous acting appearances in film and television.
Since immigrating to Australia in 1996, Tara Moss has earned a Diploma from the Australian College of Journalism and has written for publications such as Elle, The Australian Women’s Weekly, The Eye, The Sun Herald, The Daily Telegraph, NW, Woman’s Day and New Idea.
For Australian Style magazine Tara Moss wrote a year long true-crime column called “Noir.” The column chronicled her hands on research into forensic psychology, criminal investigation, ballistics and surveillance, while her research included touring the Quantico FBI Academy, FBI Headquarters, the LAPD and more.
Tara Moss’ first novel, the gripping psychological thriller Fetish, hit the bestseller lists and was nominated for the Ned Kelly Award for best first novel. She designed her own artwork for the cover and narrated the unabridged audio book version for Bolinda Audio Publishing
Tara Moss' second novel Split was released in Australia in March 2002, where it shared the top ten fiction best-seller list with the likes of John Grisham and Stephen King, making her one of Australia’s most successful female authors in any genre.
Tara’s short stories Psycho Magnet and Know Your ABC’s have won multiple awards and have been incorporated into the creative writing programs of schools in Australia and New Zealand.
A regular on Australian television, Tara Moss hosted the GNW Debate “That Fashion is a Joke,” was a semi-regular on Beauty and the Beast, and appeared on The Big Schmooze, Good News Week, Good Morning Australia, Entertainment Tonight, John Laws, Getawayand Geoffrey Robertson’s Hypothetical.
A popular corporate speaker and MC, Tara Moss’ previous engagements have included co-hosting the 2002 L’Oreal Colour Trophy, MC for the Moet and Chandon Fashions on the Field two years running, opening speaker at the Youth Forum 2002 and the Melbourne Writers’ Festival. She has also delivered speeches on positive body image and woman’s issues to schools in Canada and Australia.
An ambassador for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children and the Eating Disorders Foundation, Tara Moss takes an active role in various international charities and the community.
