Nick Green, Olympic rowing Champion
Olympic Rowing Champion Nick Green is a much sought after corporate and motivational speaker.
Nick Green's international rowing career got off to a flying start in 1989 when he joined three other experienced rowers to form the team known today as the "Oarsome Foursome". The Oarsome Foursome, together and individually, won nearly every honour and competition in rowing, including the World Championships, numerous National titles, and two Olympic Gold Medals. However in 1999 a serious back injury saw Nick announce his retirement, ending the career of one of Australia's greatest rowers.
At the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Nick Green was invited to carry the International Olympic Flag at the Opening Ceremony, in recognition of his outstanding international career.
Today, Nick Green maintains a heavy involvement in the Olympic movement. He was appointed as the Athlete Services Director of the 2002 Australian Winter Olympic team, holds positions on the Athletes' Commission for the Australian Olympic Committee, and is an Executive Board Member on the Victorian Olympic Council and the Olympians Club of Victoria.
Away from the Olympics, Nick Greens work interests are centered on health promotion, with the formation of a new company called Bluearth Institute.,
In 1993 he was awarded an Order of Australia and in 2000 an Australian Sports Medal.
